Nissan Rogue Sport – Qashqai in an American way
Nissan Rogue Sport – Qashqai in American way.
Till now perfectly recognizable to us parket Nissan Qashqai has not been on sale in America. But the X-Trail, known in the United States as the Rogue, is breaking popularity records there: 40,000 cars were found in December — only the indestructible trio of huge Ford, Chevrolet, and Ram pickups remained ahead! Naturally, the inflated demand was aided by an upgrade, and an even more — successful marketing campaign tied to the December debut of another series of «Star Wars» titled Rogue One. And without Hollywood allusions Nissan Rogue has finished year worthily: three hundred and 30 thousand cars sold in the USA and 40 thousand in Canada. Now the Nissans also bring a younger model in support of the bestseller.
In the States, the model will be called Rogue Sport, although the global name Qashqai will remain in Canada. But if the full-size Rogue has changed appreciably in the process of restyling, the North American Qashqai repeats the European model almost exactly. The external differences are only in the adapted for local requirements lighting and in the interior — differently shaped seats, a three-spoke steering wheel in the style of a Nissan GT-R sports car, and a variator selector with a cover instead of a naked groove.
There won’t be a small turbo 1.2 will not be available in America, so the only unit available — is the atmospheric «four» 2.0 (143 л.с.) with specific injection, paired with a six-speed «manual» or variator. But in the rich versions will be possible to order all-wheel drive and a new Nissan Intelligent Safety Shield complex, which includes, among other things, adaptive cruise control and autonomous braking system.
Certainly, that the same complex will soon become available and for euro Kashkaia which should experience updating this year. It will probably get a new steering wheel. As for a restyling of the exterior, Qashqai, most likely, will not change seriously.

Nissan Rogue Sport crossovers will be available at North American dealers in the spring, and these will be Japanese-made cars. Local factories are jammed to the brim with demand, forcing imports from Korea and the Land of the Rising Sun in addition to the South American-made Rogue. The prices have not yet been announced, but will undoubtedly be lower than those 20 thousand bucks that costs in the USA for the big Nissan Rogue (aka X-Trail).
